ABOUT VINEET VYAS:
Vineet was born into a family of traditionalmusicians of India, his grandfather, Pandit Brahmanand Vyas, was a renowned vocalist of his time. Vineet studied Tabla in the traditional guru-shishya parampara with thelegendary Pandit Kishan Maharaj beginningin 1987.
Vineet was raised in Nova Scotia, and is now based in Los Angeles. He has performedwith some of India’s eminent classical artistssuch as Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Ustad Aashish Khan, UstadShahid Parvez and Dr. L Subramaniam.Vineet has been featured as a guest artistwith the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and theNiagara Symphony.
TABLA WORKSHOP – This workshop provides an introduction to both the theory and presentation Indian Classical Music and its various other forms. An overview of various compositions,general improvising concept, creating patterns and phrases, mathematics, calculations and progression with rhythm will be discussed and presented.
ABOUT RAJIB KARMAKAR:
Born in a highly cultured musical family of Bengal, Rajib is one of today’s most promising young musicians. He started learning the sitar from his father Sri Durgadas Karmakar and later from Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan.Currently based in Los Angeles. Rajib has been performing in India and abroad including USA, Canada, Germany, France,Italy, Switzerland. Rajib’s versatility and ability has allowed him to adapt his classical skills and knowledge to his various world music projects such as Dhara(USA), Wahh WorldFusion(USA), Loop Science(Germany), Nada Naissance (France). He is founder and director of Los Angeles International Music and Arts Academy.
SITAR WORKSHOP – This workshop will cover the topic of theory and presentation of Sitar. Students will explore topics related to different forms of instrumental music, science behind the Indian Music,positioning of hand, compositions,techniques, ear training, and various rhythms will be discussed and presented.
ABOUT KAMINI NATARAJAN:
Kamini Natarajan is a Hindustani Khayal Singer from India. She was born in a family of classical musicians and started learning music from her Grandmother and mother. Later she became a discipline of eminent Khayal Singer from Gwalior Gharana, Pt.Krishnakant Shukla and Pt. Rajeev Sharma of Ujjain, M.P. She has performed at various venues in India and USA and has collaborated with various music genre- from Rock music to Persian! Kamini’s music isspiritual and soulful, her rendition of Raagas creative and free flowing.
VOCAL WORKSHOP – This workshop provides an introduction to both theory and presentation of Indian Classical Music in vocal form. An overview of vocal style compositions, general improvising concepts, vocal syllables, breathing techniques, and historical information.
